Important Recall Notice

RECALL NOTICE The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units.

This defect has been technically termed Subsequential Internal Non-morality, or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some other symptoms: 1. Loss of direction 2. Foul vocal emissions 3. Amnesia of origin 4. Lack of peace and joy 5. Selfish, or violent behavior 6. Depression or confusion in the mental component 7. Fearfulness 8. Idolatry 9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this S.I.N. defect. The Repair Technician, JESUS, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R. Once connected, please upload your burden of S.I.N. through the REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, JESUS, into the heart component.

No matter how big or small the S.I.N. defect is, JESUS will replace it with: 1 Love 2. Joy 3. Peace 4. Patience 5. Kindness 6. Goodness 7. Faithfulness 8. Gentleness 9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Believers Instructions Before Leaving Earth), for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded. For free emergency service, call on JESUS.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The S.I.N. defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven, so as to prevent contamination of that facility.

Thank you for your attention!

GOD

Men see better than they think!

When my wife and I were dating, we went to my cousin’s wedding, first at the church building and then to the reception at his house. It was a two story set above a sloping lawn with a deck off the second floor. The back yard was covered with tables that were covered with seafood since my cousin was a commercial fisherman in Alaska. As we stood staring at the food, everyone’s attention was drawn to the deck when one of the bridesmaid came out in an eye popping outfit.

As all the men stood staring, I was the only one to hear the voice of my future wife. The voice spoke: "Enjoying the view?"

I slowly and painfully started to bow my head and close my eyes. Then I started to pray. "Oh, Lord, Please do not let my act of uncontrolled folly and sin drive this compassionate woman away from me."

The Lord does answer pray!

My wife did not know the extent of my brokenness but her words started to bring me back to her and away from what I saw.

God knows the depth of our brokenness and he uses His Word , Jesus, to bring us back to him.
Romans 5:8....God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Can I be picky?

My friend Jason made a good suggestion in response to my last blog about exercise. Since I probably never run a 26K, he recommended a 5K. I am willing to think about it but have lots of questions. And for starters, I was able to run 1 mile on the treadmill. Only two to go but it will be a long road.

I can afford to be picky about my exercise regimen but can I be picky about my religion? Jesus tells us to count the cost and to love the Lord your God with all your heart, strength and soul.

Does this mean that our culture is against us because we have a "want it all, want it now" mentality?

How much is "enough" religion? Is Sunday morning enough of a relationship?

Compare exercise with religion - I only need to exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes and I can feel the benefits. Can you be religious for 30 minutes a day and feel the benefits?

No New Years Resolutions!!!

Resolutions should start in the heart, not in the new year. Commitment to do something without understanding or desiring the benefits will not bring success.

Take exercise for example - yes, of course I need to exercise - everybody does. It is not only what you are getting away from - (being unfit) but what are you going to - (physical fitness). So in aiming to be physically fit, how fit do I want to be?? Do I want to be like Jack La Lanne the Godfather of fitness? (Not likely). Bench press 200 pounds? Be able to do twenty push ups for the Marines at the Portland Waterfront during Rose Festival and get a T-shirt from the USMC? (Yes, but not enough.) Exercise my transverse abdominis muscle to help prevent further aggravating my back? (You bet - I don't want my life to be held hostage to my back problems). But I don't need to be buff nor do I want to be able to run a marathon or the Hood to Coast. That is not where my heart is. I would want to see the tangible benefits before I commit myself to a regimen.

Now I know the cost of the commitment.

Luke 14: 25 - 33
"Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters, yes, even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
"Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'
"Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple."

We don't need to be "great" Christians, we need to be committed Christians.
